Protect Your Rights – Get Your SAR and FOI FormIf you are concerned about Southend Council’s new bin rollout system, you should download and send this Freedom of Information (FOI) request directly to the Council. This is especially important if:You have a disability, and bins are creating access or safety issues. You live in a multi-occupant property, where fire risks are increased. Why this matters: An FOI forces the council to reveal what investigations, surveys, or risk assessments (if any) they carried out before pushing this scheme onto residents. That information can be vital for your complaint or any future legal action. Why a SAR matters: A Subject Access Request (SAR) forces the council to disclose the information they hold about you personally. This includes any records, notes, or decisions they relied on that should have been considered before rolling out the bin scheme. If they failed to take your circumstances into account — for example, disability, shared property, or unsuitable storage space — a SAR will expose that. This evidence is essential for challenging their actions and showing whether they ignored their legal duties. We have prepared this form for you free of charge. While it does cost us to keep this system running, we have funded it ourselves to make sure residents are protected. If demand exceeds our current allowance, we may need to expand capacity — so please let us know if the service limit is ever reached.Simply press the button below to get your copy, add your details, and send it to Southend Council.
FOI = information about operations/policy/statistics (not your personal data). Authorities must respond within 20 working days; they must help refine if too broad (s16).SAR = your personal data (images, logs, records). They must respond within one month (can extend to three months if complex; they must tell you why).Keep PDFs of what you sent and the auto-acknowledgements.
Don’t watch TV? Still paying for a TV licence? Many people don’t realise that if you don’t watch live TV or BBC iPlayer, you may not need a licence at all — but the system doesn’t make this clear. Some people are threatened, harassed, or misled into continuing to pay.We help you formally put them on notice — clearly and legally.
